The Wonderful, Wonderful Door

This past week has been a good one for Jack learning new skills and his favorite new skill is knowing how to open and shut doors around the house. Holly caught him on tape the other day with the bedroom door and I thought some of you might like to see it.

Speed Racer

I'm not exactly sure what makes this movie appeal to me so much, but for some reason I enjoy it more than most movies I watch. It doesn't quite rank as high as Transformers or anything, but I think it could definitely be one I have on the shelf someday to watch with the kids on a Saturday afternoon or something. If you haven't seen it (and you don't mind movies that are just made for the fun of viewing them), you should give it a try.

Transformers was Great

I don't want to reveal many details because I don't want to ruin the movie for anyone since it only came out today, but I went to see Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen for the first showing at midnight last night and was thrilled by how it turned out.

One thing I'll never understand is why so many critics can't get the idea that movies like this are not intended to have brilliant plot points, stellar acting, or anything else, they are made simply to entertain, blow some stuff up, and have some funny jokes.

That is exactly what I was looking for and it was exactly what I got, not to mention some incredibly awesome fight scenes where Optimus Prime battles basically the entirety of the Decepticon forces all on his own and totally wails on them.

Can't wait to see it again, perhaps on the IMAX next time because apparently the forest fight scene shows Optimus Prime at actual life size in the IMAX version.

Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen

I've been waiting for this movie for three years since the last movie came out and I get to go see it for the first showing tonight in exactly 12 hours and 14 minutes. Supposedly this movie is supposed to be epic in regards to special effects, number of robots, and battle scenes.

I'm so excited I'm bouncing off the walls.

The WALL-E Family

Today Holly and I were at the University Mall and wandered into the Disney store. The first thing I saw was these stuffed characters from the WALL-E movie, and as Holly would put it, I was torn. In the end, we brought home a big WALL-E for me, a small one for Jack, and an EVE for Holly so we now have our very own WALL-E family here at the Flanagan house.

Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen

June 26, 2009

Mark it! That is the day the next Transformers film comes out and it is going to be epic!

I have purposefully prevented myself from getting too involved in trying to find information about the film over the past six months or so because I know that the director Michael Bay is purposefully trying to leak out information that isn't accurate so that the actual characters and events of the movie will still be somewhat of a surprise when the time comes. However, during a break in writing my paper today (it's the only thing I have scheduled to do), I decided to see if there was anything out there because the movie comes out in about 7 months or so.

Turns out the wikipedia has a nice little article about the movie based mostly on general information that I either already knew about, or is pretty common sense as to what should naturally be included in the next movie.

If you want to read it you can find it here: Wikipedia Article

The most exciting thing for me to discover is the stuff about the character Jetfire switching sides at some point during the movie and the information about "The Twins" which I am pretty excited about. I'm really excited for Skids to possibly be in the movie and I want to know what the second Twin is going to end up being called.

And, of course, I cannot fail to mention the fact that Shia Labeouf (probably my favorite actor nowadays) and Megan Fox (my pseudo-girlfriend according to Holly) will be back to reprise their roles. That makes me happy.
