Sunday School President

Well, my run in the nursery is over as far as Sundays are concerned. Part of me is a little grateful for that as I have a really hard time keeping up with that many kids at once, especially when some of them are stealing toys from others and such. It was a fun experience, and probably one that I needed to have, but I think that Holly enjoys it far more than I do in the end.

So, instead of being in the nursery, I am now the Sunday School President. I had to pick two counselors, Brandon Clift and Gordon Liljenquiest, and we all got set apart yesterday. I guess the Stake Sunday School President will be giving me a call this week to work out some time to do a little bit of training and his counselors will be training my counselors as well. I also need to go and get the manual from the last guy who had my job in the ward too.

The bishop hasn't given us a whole lot of direction, but he did say that he wants us to figure out a plan for a Teacher Development course to teach during the summer, and then do again with other teachers in the Fall and Winter, so that gives us something to work towards as well. He also said that he wants us to be ready to teach on any given week in case a teacher gets sick or doesn't show up, and that he will be asking us to teach some random lessons here and there on specific topics as he feels necessary.

All in all, I think it will be a fun calling, nothing too strenuous, but not insignificant either. We'll see what my thoughts are in four months I suppose.
