I don't know about the rest of you, but I am always trying to finish things it seems. Sometimes it is finishing some work for Conquer Club, sometimes the laundry or dishes, and sometimes a good book that I've been reading for a couple of weeks. This past week has been a trial for me in getting things finished, and in some instances getting things started.
It has felt like there was a massive backpack full of projects weighing down on me, and truth be told, I've only gotten a few done. I'm hoping to change that today. Holly and I went to bed last night at a somewhat decent hour and I promised myself I would sleep until I was fully rested, which turned out to be about 9:15 this morning. I figure that wasn't too bad considering how horribly exhausted I was last night after the events of the week.
Since waking up I've cleaned up the bedroom, sorted the laundry and started it, cleaned up the living room, cleaned up the office, started stacking the dishes into "shifts" to be completed throughout the day, and even found the time to watch some of the Beijing Olympics this morning in between it all.
It's fun to watch the Olympics, and I think our TV will probably just stay on with the dial set to NBC for the next couple of weeks while they are going on. This morning we watched the start to the Men's Road Race, a few rowing competitions, the Women's Sabre Finals, and now it looks like Women's Beach Volleyball is on tap. I'm most looking forward to making sure I don't miss any of the Swimming involving Michael Phelps because I'm pretty sure he's going to get all 8 of those gold medals he is chasing after.
So, while watching the Olympics today my goals are to finish the laundry, finish the dishes, and get entirely caught up on my tournament updates that have been severely lacking all week long. Holly on the other hand has an afternoon full of text to write for work, but I don't think she minds much as long as the Olympics stay on for her to watch while doing it.
