Birthday... So Far

Apparently, Holly has a fancy plan for me to receive more presents on Saturday when we have a gathering of family and friends for my birthday. We would have done it yesterday, my actual birthday, except that a lot of the people I know happen to work evenings during the week, and I was a little slow in letting Holly know exactly what I wanted.

Nevertheless, my birthday was still very good as I went to work for most of the day (it was very slow, so I just read and played CC), then came home to get Holly and off we went to the mall to see Speed Racer. I have wanted to see that movie for a little while, and the other movies for this summer I intend to see are not out in theaters yet. I enjoyed Speed Racer quite a bit though, it was about what I expected with a couple of small twists that I wasn't. Not a mind-blowing film by any means, but definitely worth seeing on a big screen for the first time and not on a home television set.

We then returned home to relax for a bit and then head off to bed. I have been sleeping terribly for about a week now and it all caught up with me last night. I fell asleep after some snuggling with Holly, and didn't wake up until my alarm sounded this morning.

Anyways, I thought I would share the few presents I have received with everyone in picture form today. All I have gotten so far are books:

This is actually a book I have needed for a little while in order to read it first before reading one that Holly gave me this last Christmas. She gave it to me yesterday morning as a surprise in the bag I take to work. I read about a third of it yesterday while I was at work, and finished the rest of it today, so now I can start on the one from Christmas tonight.

After the book from Christmas, I have this one to read now, and the final book of the 9 book series came out on Tuesday. Holly gave me this one yesterday as well, and I may end up using my birthday money from Grandma Chatfield to get the final book once I am finished.

This one is from Russell and Shyla, who decided to help me out in my web design endeavors by giving me a book on CSS that I have been needing. Apparently this is the one that Russell used as a textbook when he was teaching the class I just finished, and thinks it would be the most helpful in polishing up my CSS skills. I guess we'll see what kind of fun tricks I can work up for otissito or other pages during the summer now.
